Will companies like Charter communications and Comcast survive with verizon fios here?

Will cable companies be able to compete with fios?|||I dont know, I do have charter and i wish i could get fios. fios works with tivo hd.. I do record alot of shows on my tivo hd from the antenna. I also have netflix, amazon vod and now blockbuster vod. so i wonder why i need cable at all.
