Why did my charter communications cable box not come with cables that enable HD?

I just recently got Charter Communications. My cable box is a Scientific Atlanta Explorer 3100 HD. I'd like to know why the cable box did not come with the cables needed to watch HD tv. I dont know the names of said cables all i know is that they are not here. Was i supposed to ask them for it or am i supposed to get it seperately? Any help is much appreciated.

Below is a link of the manual and a Hook-up Diagram of the box.

http://www.myaccount.charter.com/Custome鈥?/a>|||There are two choices for HD cables, (1) HDMI and (2) a set of five component cables. The former is by far the preferred choice, and it's ordinarily purchased separately. You can get one on line for less than $5. You don't need the super-expensive HDMI cable sold in TV stores.

Cable companies sometimes supply the component set with an HD receiver. If you got that (red-green-blue video plus red-white audio), it will work fine. If not, get an HDMI cable.|||Because HDTV is not enabled by cables...it's enabled through the box!!!
